If the season at Coconut Point has a regular weekly anchor, it's Thursday morning, and it has been since October 1.
The holiday parade and tree lighting get the attention, but the first part of the season at the Estero shopping center has been under way for weeks, one weekday morning at a time. From there the calendar adds a new weekend event every week or two through November, until all of it lands on a single Saturday in December. If you live in Pelican Sound, Coconut Point is your nearby errand run. It's worth knowing which days it stays that way and which day it turns into a regional event.
Thursday Comes First
The Coconut Point farmers market runs every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., set up across from Panera Bread, and Simon lists the season as October 1, 2026, through April 29, 2027. That's about seven months of the same weekday morning. No other event on the center's fall calendar lasts that long.
The newest opening on the Estero calendar was also scheduled for a Thursday. Gulf Coast News Now reported that Whataburger would open its Estero restaurant at 22927 Lyden Drive on Thursday, October 22. It's the chain's second Southwest Florida location, following a Fort Myers debut in September. The Fort Myers restaurant is open around the clock. The Estero location keeps hours of 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, and the company said app and website ordering would follow in the weeks after opening. During those first weeks, check whether online ordering is live yet before you plan a drive-thru run around it.
The Storefronts Changing Between Market Days
The tenant lineup is turning over on its own schedule, and the status labels vary by store. Here is where each one stands on the center's own pages and in recent coverage:
- Brooks Brothers: listed as "Just Arrived" on Coconut Point's Simon page, with posted store hours and a location in the center.
- Rowan: the ear-piercing studio is labeled "New Near You."
- Kendra Scott: the center's main page still shows the jewelry retailer as "Headed Your Way."
- LaserAway: the medspa's store page gave an expected opening of September 29, 2026, while the center's main page still lists it as "In The Works."
- Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls and Fresh Monkee: both named as Coconut Point additions in Gulfshore Business' 2026 tracker of regional restaurant openings and closings.
- Shake Shack: planned for Coconut Point in 2027, according to Gulfshore Business.
The same Gulfshore Business tracker lists other Estero openings beyond the center: Wasabi by Suji Japanese Steakhouse at Miromar Outlets and 41 Bagels on U.S. 41. Also at Miromar Outlets, Florida Weekly reports that Da Michela Osteria Italiana has reopened in its renovated space between H&M and New Balance.
For a regular Thursday visit, it adds up to a short, concrete list. The market is the reason to go, and a couple of new storefronts and new places to eat are within walking distance once you're parked.
November Moves the Calendar to Weekends
After Halloween, the dated events shift to Saturdays and spread out across Estero before coming back to Coconut Point. The weeks run in this order:
- Saturday, October 31: Friends of Koreshan State Park holds a guided historic tour at 10 a.m. It's the last of the two October tour dates on the group's calendar.
- Saturday, November 7: Estero RiverPark, at 20911 Highlands Ave., hosts a native plant giveaway and sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Village of Estero says preregistered attendees can come in at 9:30 a.m. to pick up a free plant.
- Saturday, November 14: Estero's Veterans Day celebration runs from 10 a.m. to noon at Estero Community Park, with music, classic cars, military vehicles, children's activities and free food, according to the Village of Estero.
- Saturday and Sunday, November 21 and 22: the 16th Annual Coconut Point Art Festival runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days at 23181 Via Villagio Drive, and admission is free.
The art festival is where Coconut Point's weekend calendar picks up again. Producer Howard Alan Events describes life-size sculpture, painting, jewelry, photography and ceramics spread through the center over the two days. The Via Villagio Drive address matters too, because two weeks later another festival uses the same one.
December 5 Puts Two Events on One Saturday
Everything on the November list happens one event per weekend. On Saturday, December 5, two separately organized events run at Coconut Point on the same day.
The Tropical Holiday Celebration
The center's holiday celebration is listed for 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 23106 Fashion Drive. It includes a car and truck show, a vendor show, entertainment, Santa's arrival in the Tropical Holiday Parade, and the annual tree lighting. The listing gives only the overall 10-to-8 window and no separate times for the parade, Santa or the tree lighting, so plan on the full day if you have one particular moment in mind.
The Holiday Craft Festival
The Coconut Point Holiday Craft Festival runs Saturday, December 5, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, December 6, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., again at 23181 Via Villagio Drive, with free admission. Its listing says it runs alongside the Tropical Holiday Celebration on Saturday. The organizer's exhibitor guidance says booths line the sidewalks beside the storefronts. That means the craft festival shares the same walkways shoppers use to reach the stores.
Taken together, December 5 has a car show, a vendor show, a parade, a tree lighting and a sidewalk craft festival, all running from mid-morning into the evening on the same property. No other day on the center's fall calendar has that much going on.
Working the Calendar From Pelican Sound
Because the schedule is laid out in sequence, you can plan around it. The farmers market keeps running every Thursday through the holidays, so Thursday, December 3, is a regular market morning two days before the busiest Saturday of the season. If you want the craft festival without the parade and car show, Sunday, December 6, has it from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the Tropical Holiday Celebration already over. If the parade and tree lighting are the reason you're going, Saturday is the only day they happen.
Then there's the longer view. The market's season goes through April 29, 2027, and Shake Shack is due at the center sometime in 2027. In the meantime, the nearest Shake Shack is the North Naples location at Mercato, with another Collier County restaurant planned at 6833 Collier Blvd.
Our team keeps track of how the places around Pelican Sound change from season to season, from a new restaurant on Lyden Drive to a sidewalk festival on Via Villagio.
